Christmas Puddings by susiemc

Christmas Puddings

I've never made Christmas puddings before but I thought I'd have a go. It's a much lighter recipe than the traditional one and uses butter instead of suet. I saw the recipe in this month's Good Food Magazine and thought it sounded good.
Well done you - they have six weeks to mature ,before Christmas day !

Cool! I’m going to have to look up Christmas puddings. You and beryl have me curious now. :)

Yummy. I’m assuming that Christmas pudding is like what we call plum pudding (although I don’t remember it having any plums in the recipe). When I was a kid we always had one at Christmas and I remember we had a running dispute over the sauce. Some preferred my mother’s lemon sauce and some her caramel sauce.

You’re in good time....the lighter recipe sounds good...even I might be tempted to try your version! You will be very proud on the day when you set light to it!!

Well done, Sue. Let us know how they taste. Mum always made her own using a recipe passed down for many generations. Sadly it has
disappeared but I can taste it now.
