Trumpet Vine by susiemc

Trumpet Vine

About four years ago a friend gave me some insignificant little "sticks" which were from her well established trumpet vine. She assured me they would grow but I wasn't convinced. Well they did grow but for the last three years they only produced leaves, lots and lots of leaves. This year there are flowers! I'm very happy.
I’m very impressed that your flowers are thriving, Sue. On Sunday you will be shocked to see how ours have been affected by the heat.

@foxes37 Not everything is thriving Lis and sadly some things have died as a result of the extreme heat. However we have had a bit more rain than you have added to which we have heavy clay soil which holds the moisture. I suspect you’ve got sandy soil. The lawn is still green but this is largely due to the fact that it’s mostly weeds 😂😂 and weeds thrive whatever the conditions. The hollyhock are also thriving 😂.

A nice shot of these beauties, Sue! I just learned of these flowers this summer. Apparently, hummingbirds really like these flowers, but I haven't spotted any yet. Maybe you will be luckier! :)
