My Knitted Poppies by susiemc

My Knitted Poppies

I go to Craft Club in our village hall. I'm not really a craft-y person but I thought this would be a good way to meet people. I've turned up some trousers and started knitting a jumper but today and last Monday I knitted these poppies. We're all knitting poppies to decorate the war memorial in the village to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the end of World War 1. My two poppies are for my grandfather and his brother. They both died at the Battle of the Somme.
These are so cute Sue, simple but very striking.
