This is a goldcrest, Britain's smallest bird. I've never seen one in the garden until today so I was quite excited. Actually I've only ever seen a goldcrest a few times in my life. This one was desperately trying to get at it's reflection in the living room window. I think it was a bit confused.
@phil_sandford Thanks Phil. Same for us. I did see him a few days later with what looked like nesting material in his mouth so you never know, he might stay around for a while.
@susiemc That's true I'd forgotten about that - but most of the birds are black! I've just got a bird feeder for the garden in the hope of attracting some new ones. :)

@beryl Thank you Beryl.
@onewing I think it's only the third time I've seen one Babs. I hope there are two of them and maybe they'll build a nest.
@koalagardens Yes it was exciting. I took LOADS of photos but most of them weren't good because he never stopped moving.
@merrelyn @gijsje Yes he was very tiny.
@bigmxx Yes you do Michelle, you took a lovely picture of an oyster catcher.
@happysnaps He's very sweet. I hope he stays around for a while.
