Baffled by a Baffle

The squirrel population has exploded. The garden is full of them. I did some research and found this squirrel baffle which we're hoping will keep them off the bird feeders. This one is definitely baffled.

Yes, those baffles work wonders. But, believe it or not, I have watched the squirrel walking around underneath my birdfeeder walking back towards the tree walking up to the water feature and then walking back to the tree and taking a run at the water feeder and bouncing off that above the baffle and eating the nuts

I swear he was measuring and working out what he needed to do.
