Another one from Twigmore woods from the other day. It's a beautiful privately owned wood that is open to the public, the walk around the woods and ponds is around 2 miles and its packed with rhododendrons, a lovely sight this time of year.
John Wright, one of the Gunpowder Plot conspirators, lived at Twigmore Hall which was known as a Catholic refuge. Local stories have it that the Gunpowder plot was hatched at the hall, though I do suspect there are several other locations that make the same claim!
