Polruan

I must confess that I am actually starting to get a little bored with the endless long exposure misty water shots that seem so fashionable at the moment. Yes, it's a great effect, but it has been pretty much done to death.

I do appreciate that water shots are tricky and that agitated water can often look a bit crispy and messy. However I think water is very beautiful and the play of waves and ripples with natural reflections can be quite amazing. So over the past few days I have been trying to capture the beauty of water without misting it into oblivion.

wonderful light on all those house colours. like your composition. and i kinda agree with your silky-water reservations, even though i just bought a lee big stopper filter and thought i was going to love it. partly i need to play more and really find out how it works, but when i was looking at a stretch of water sparkling with sunshine, i found myself wanting just to use a really fast shutter speed to capture the movement as i saw it ...
