Swans always remind me of the traditional image of angels, with their huge white wings.
However images of angels always make me think how biologically impossible the traditional angel image is. The design just doesn't work does it? In order to support such a set of huge functional wings, they would require an additional set of powerful muscles which would make their upper bodies quite different and considerably larger than that depicted. Or conversely to keep some sort of acceptable human form they should not have arms.... just wings, which would look a bit weird. Also some form of tail feathers would be required for stability and directional control.
Not that I'm suggesting that there are no such things as angels....... heaven forbid. :)
reading the above I guess I must be doomed. My tag is 'onewing' because I figured that if there is a remote possibility there is life beyond this one I am not likely to be given a halo or a harp, but I may manage one wing.
