Red by swillinbillyflynn

Red

As usual, I have no idea what this is but it did add a very vivid splash of red to a winter garden.

If anyone knows what it is, please let me know as I'd love one in my garden.
wow! Only in your area would you be able to grow one of these! I believe it is a Protea but our South African friends will confirm. We usually come across them in florist's bouquets. I see the rosemary next to it still has some flowers on....I guess its all thanks to the Gulf Stream! As you say a wonderful splash of colour on our dreary winters days.

It's a fasicularia pitcairnensis, I've seen one in Brodick Castle gardens o the Isle of Arran, a very warm Sheltered spot in the west.....
