Normal daily life has come to a stop today. It is "vastelavond" (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnival_in_the_Netherlands for details on how we celebrate it in the southern part of our country). No parades this year since most of the corona restrictions were lifted just this week. Our neighbors dressed up (red, green and yellow are typical carnival colors) with some make-up on their faces.
@joysabin This was the event that got it all started in The Netherlands 2 years ago. One week after Carnival the first corona cases surfaced in the the province Noord Brabant (also hefty carnivalers).
