Perhaps I misunderstand the "Flash of Red" challenge. To me it means black and white with a flash of red. The photos that I see tagged for that challenge are just B&W. Whether I understand the challenge or not. I like this photo with a flash of red.
Your project your rules Frogger!! But it is as Casablanca said BnW all month but on 14th a bit of selective colour of red in the photo. (last year my flash of red was on 13th as it was then in middle of the calndar. you do what you want!!
This is very cool - I have done the b&w with a flash of red when I was here before, if I get around to it, I have copies of the months as screen shots and I did think about putting them up. That time we were learning b&w techniques from The Black and White Photography Field Guide by Michael Freeman, if I remember correctly, each week following a chapter to learn a new technique, starting with ways to subtract colour - which you can do in a number of different ways creating different effects.
Great little flash of red- especially since strawberries are one of my favorite fruits! You can interpret the "flash of red" any way you want to. Traditionally we've always reserved that flash of red for the 14th. But there have been others who've also put their own little twist on this challenge (one person didn't like red so she put in blue!). A couple people have also opted to not do sc but do an entire picture in red. It's really up to you and I don't have a problem with people adding their own little spin on it. So, yes, the majority of pictures you'll see will be all black and white until the 14th and then they'll use sc as you have here to put one little dash of color in the middle of the month. But I have a feeling that the way you're doing a pop of red in each shot will look pretty impressive at the end of the month too!
@olivetreeann Thanks for your comment. Your challenge is an in-depth study of black and white photography. I didn't want to spoil it. I'm really enjoying making my flash-of-red photos, though.
BTW, I have some guesses about what "sc" means, but what do you mean?
Love this. What an elegant and tasty looking image.
This is a lovely contribution to FoR!!
Well done!
Your project, your rules!
Good shot!
