Home Sweet Home

Our home has a lovely ambience I think. Warm tones and textures welcome family and visitors to our door. The full verandah keeps the weather from our door and windows and gives shade in the hotter months. We love to sit outside under the verandah and listen to the birds in the gum trees and shrubs. One of life's little pleasures!
I would love a verandah, I'm so nosey but nothing much happens in my street. It does look very inviting.I like the processing, are you liking black and white now? Where did the house name come from?

Nope, not converted to the B&W brigade. This has been processed in posterise, sepia, a bit of this and a bit of that. Mainly, in camera, I blew the highlights out on the lights at the front of the house and was trying any processing that didn't exacerbate that issue. Our house does not front onto the street so we have a nice amount of privacy and sometimes things happen in the street and we only find out much later from the neighbours. The house name is a combination of an old family middle name "grano" and "lea" means field or meadow. It just seemed to fit. Would love to learn more of the history of the "grano" part as it was the middle name of the grandfather and great-grandfather of my boys but that side of the family is slack on history. LOL

Impressive capture, love the texture of the stonework. Perfectly composed.

I was also going to ask about the name, nice story. Your house looks beautiful.
