Brom Flower 1

I know I have had the flower from the Billbergia Hallelujah on before but they are so interesting looking I just had to post it again...At present we have two pots of these broms and each has 3 flowers. Unlike most brom flowers, they only last a couple of days before the fade, fade, fade away.

WOW I've never seen a brom that looks like this. Sooooo pretty! They look like ribbons :)

What a beautifully unusual flower, I see why you would want to capture it if it only lasts a few days!

@gigiflower @karlow75 @leestevo @tellefella @pittcj17 @teiko @sabanford @ribbet9 @homeschoolmom @milaniet @demelo @andrewkru @hermann @dianeburns @kiscsillag @landownunder @gilbertwood @tahoemb @vegansusan @mvangent @moxy Thank you evertone. It is certainly an interesting flower and - I thought you may enjoy seeing it. After these flowers are gone, we probably wont see any more for about 12 months or so. Each brom plant only ever flowers once so you have to wait for the new pups to reach maturity before you see flowers again.

Now that I'm buying flowers (for the sake of 365 pics), I've been paying more attention to the bouquets in various locations. Yesterday I saw a selection that included brom blooms and couldn't believe it seeing as they bloom so infrequently (something I learned from you). Didn't check the price of those bunches but I bet they were a pretty penny's worth. This bloom you've photographed here is so full of character and color. Wow.

@lyndemc Remember that most brom flowers last for months - well its not the flowers but rather the bracts that carry the flowers. Did they look like a water fountain? or a cocks comb?
