Made a hurried trip back to the Tropical Dome to get a couple of pics I ear marked yesterday in case nothing else came along today.
This is an Anthurium that was growing in the warm humid atmosphere of the dome. I have these in the garden but they are nowhere near as good as these growing in a protected environment.
I am away for the next four weeks on a tour to Canada and Alaska and have no idea how successful I am going to be in getting photos loaded. Instead of a desktop with 2 x 24inch monitors I will be using a tablet which I am unfamiliar with. Needless to say, I doubt very much if I will have time or the ability to comment etc. My apologies in advance but I will be trying to look at your albums.
I also haven't worked out yet how to manage the dates after I have crossed the Int'l Date Line so my posting dates may be a bit wonky for the next four weeks. Life's a bitch
can't resist this little story Terry - many years ago I belonged to a flower arranging club: I was the youngest member by a good 30 years so imagine my surprise when I learned that these genteel ladies frequently referred to Anthuriums as "willies on a plate"! On that note - have a fantastic time in Canada & Alaska - look forward to some amazing shots, probably all in one hit when you get back!
Gorgeous flowers, they almost look plastic. And @net that's a hilarious name for them.
I must say I am very jealous, wow Canada and Alaska, I'm sure there will be many photos coming from this trip, I really look forward to seeing them. Remember, free wifi is your friend :-)
Have a spectacular and safe trip.
