Last year at about this time I waxed on lyrically about the mangoes we get from one of our local mango growers who sells his crop off the back of his truck. They are the best of the best.
As I said last year, for most Queenslanders there are two seasons in the year, MS (Mango Season) and WFTNMS (Waiting for the next mango season)
As soon as a I saw the pic (and before reading your commentary) I thought, "Hey, he posted a pic just like this about this time last year. (I've noted that some of my pics are near repeats of last January's posts too.) Enjoy your mango season, you lucky guy.
I do love mangoes, can never get enough of them. My tree is a bit of a dud though and when it does bear I have to fight the bats for them. This tray looks delicious.
Would you believe I've never eaten a mango? Have always heard of them, and think, on occasion in some of the larger supermarkets, I think I've seen them. Maybe I should try one next time I see them. They sure look great here.
@milaniet My only comment Milanie is that there are mangoes and there are mangoes. These ones are the "Kensington Pride" variety (commoinly called Bowen Mangoes) and as far as I (and most people are concerned) they are the only ones worth eating. We get other varieties here but they nothing compared to the Bowens. I have tried a couple while overseas and they were rubbish. So if you do get to try one someday and are hugely disappointed in it, it is probably just the variety. You may just have to come to Oz between Nov and Jan one year just to try the real deal. :-)
I`m a Pyrrhula. At least as beautiful as.
Thanks for you sympathy.
