My rule for taking candid shots of other people. See the photo, quickly take the shot, if you are caught as I was here, smile at them and give them the thumbs up. And then run.
In this case all was fine. I was only about 4 or 5 metres from them when I took the shot and she was smiling at me. Maybe it's my natural charm.
Actually I was quite disappointed with this. I thought I was shooting a guy taking his first bite of a delicious, hot, fatty, salty, meat pie but it was some stupid healthy salad roll. I don't know what the world is coming to
Great candid. I am a fan of the spray and pray shot. Keeping the camera down at the end of its strap and shooting in a general direction. The trick is to not look at them until later and see what you got :)
Ah man, that salad roll sandwich sounds good! Hey, you're doing a lot better than me with candid shots. I skip the first three steps and just go with the last one.
And here I am constantly telling people to stop photography your grandkids, quite forcefully with mean hand gestures when they don't stop (& especially when they start grabbing them). And it's because of this I always ask now, and therefore often miss the shot I wanted.
Shotit & Legit sounds like a great photographic company specialising in street photography, love the resulting image from your own great technique Terry :)
