We are down at Rainbow Bay on the Gold Coast for a few days (celebrating Nanna's 65th). For O/S 365ers, Rainbow Bay is basically the same as Snapper Rocks which hosts the Quicksilver Pro and the Roxy Pro, the first events of the pro surfing calendar for the year.
Rhoda spotted this dude with the wild hair and a great set of pearly whites so I went over and took his photo.
Talked to him for quite a while. He is Carlos Munoz from Costa Rica and is a second tier surfer. He has to go through qualifying to get a start against the big boys in the Quicksilver Pro which starts in a couple of weeks time.
