Or maybe I should have called this Dumb and Dumber.
These two teenagers were playing in an old, long-abandoned swimming pool at Snapper Rocks (anyone from Oz remember the Jack Evans Porpoise Pool?) during the recent heavy swells. She was in the pool and he was alongside and the waves would crash into the pool and it was all such great fun (Shots 1&2).
Of course the inevitable happened and a bloody big wave came through with predictable results (shots 3-6).
Unfortunately, looking through the view finder, I didn't realise that I had captured her being washed over the edge and I stopped shooting after shot 6. Consequently I missed the aftermath with all the blood from the gouges in her shoulder and leg. Damn!!!
Oh yes it started out as fun but .........! I often think people just don't realise the power of the sea! When we have rough seas and gales and you see people standing on the edge watching or taking a photo and then get washed away! Scary! Great set Terry you have really captured the story of what happened! Fav!
Wow, great shots. I bet they feel like fools now, as well as being a little sore. Pleased all she suffered was a few cuts and bangs it might teach them to think a little more
An awesome series of photos, I am sure at that age I would probably have risked the same for the fun of it, nowadays common sense has hopefully come to the fore!
