Nanna makes it to the top of the Grand Staircase.
The staircase took guests from the Castle at the top of the park (and the top of Mena Falls) down to the Refreshment Rooms and gardens on the lower level (and the bottom of Mena Falls).
The Grand Staircase was the first part of the park built and was used initially to transport sand up from Mena Creek to make concrete for the Paronella home and the castle.
The two plaques about a third of the way up mark the level of the 1967, '94 and '96 floods. The plaque you can just see about two thirds of the way up marks the level of the 1974 flood. Unbelievable.
