Micro Bats

Day 13 - Undara Lava Tubes, FNQ

These micro bats were hanging from the roof of the tube. They were only ever described to us as microbats but I now know that this is the generic name given to a number of small species of bats that feed on insects etc. So I don't really know sort of bats these are.
This is fantastic. It's normally so dark in the caves that one cannot get a good pic. Well done.

How cool to see these in the wild. Great capture considering it would have been very low light.

You're game to get amongst them - I would be afraid one would get in my hair. We had a bat in the house recently and I rang my husband who was working in Fiji and demanded he get on a plane to come home and deal with it. Tense night!!
