I know its a crap photo but . . . . . .

It was a bonus day today. Before the appearance of the rosellas, I heard a king parrot calling. Grabbed the camera and went outside to be confronted by this juvenile male king parrot. Quickly took a few pics and then checked the settings which were all wrong and was in the process of setting the camera up properly when, you know it, the lorikeets arrived and off he went. We were really pleased to see him since it means that the couple that were here earlier in the year are not the only ones that know about our little oasis. It was probably their baby. It is a juvenile male because it is developing the red breast and blue wings but still has some of the juvenile green plumage on its head and neck. Best viewed small!!!
Pity it's blurred- but hey, you captured it! Hopefully it will return.

Beautiful markings. It's always upsetting when you see the picture and realise it's not spot on. At least we can still see it's colours, and markings.

Thanks everyone. The king parrot is one of my favourites. They are magnificent. @sabanford I think you meant "Gorgeous bird" Shirley not "Gorgeous shot".
