I think it’s beautiful. I can see that you caught a lot of detail in a difficult shot. I think you could bring out some of those details by just bringing up shadows. I only say that because you said it didn’t quite work out. I think it has a lovely holiday mood.
Maybe a little less highlight in the center? Candles, even though they don't look too bright, can easily blow out a photo. I ran into that with my birthday candle photo last week. One measly little birthday candle... I think it's was because the room was dark.
