(The Missus and I rented a cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains for a week. The interwebs connection here is awfully slow so some of my pictures may be later than usual due to glacial upload speeds.)
Everybody, please meet my friend Rhoda. Her last name is Dendron. Rhododendron. The Blue Ridge Parkway is loaded with rhododendrons and they are all blossoming right now. In some places it's like driving through a tunnel of them. This one was near Mabry Mill ( https://365project.org/timerskine/365/2020-07-13).
This is so pretty. I first thought the flowers were in a fluted vase. Is this how they really are as they grow or have you played around with the image? Fav!
@serendypyty This was the natural setting. The foreground leaves may actually have been from a different branch of the same bush...I wasn't really paying attention. This just presented itself at eye level, although I did have to go up on my toes a bit to get the framing just right (but that's not exactly suffering for one's art).
This is quite a unique shot as I thought the same as Cazzi @serendypyty above then realised the effect was caused by the leaves in the foreground. The overall image is so pretty.
