This Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos) was hopping around a scrub pile just at the limit of my lens. Here, it's giving me a shout...something I didn't see. As a pro photographer once told me that with SLRs, if you see it, you missed it. This is because the mirror flips up when the image is exposed, blacking out the viewfinder.
