Tulip Poplar Squirrel by timerskine

Tulip Poplar Squirrel

Since the tulip poplar in our backyard is in bloom and has been in two pictures this week (April 29 and May 1) I figured another one would be OK.

An Eastern grey squirrel takes shelter from a spring shower on a lower branch of the tree. This is a spot favored by the local squirrels since it has good visibility of the available food supply and is far too high for Maggie and Banjo to reach when they charge into the yard to 'sanitize' the area of rodents.
oh how cute, I had to look for it and now realize how huge this tree is!
