Yesterday's gloominess was accompanied by the near-constant roar of Navy jets overhead flying from Naval Air Station Oceana. We don't mind the sound as we are aficionados of such things, and NAS Oceana has a 'good neighbor' agreement with Virginia Beach to not keep people awake for too long after the sun goes down. But a while after they stopped thundering about the thunderstorms started.
Just after sunrise there was a break in the weather and we were treated to this scene on our balcony.
But don't worry. It started raining again about an hour later...while we were walking on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk.
