There were 10 or so great egrets at the Virginia Beach Lotus Garden Park a few minutes before 7am. It was still fairly dark due to the thick overcast, but this one was close enough to get a good shot of as it seemed to ponder its own image in the surface of the water.
I want to let my followers know that I have stepped back from daily posting here on 365. I am not leaving, but I have realized that for a while now I have been taking pictures for the sake of posting them here. My creative eye has faded more than a little, and worse, the thrill of the hunt has been diminished. But I'll keep posting when I take something interesting (I will still have a camera with me at all times) and I may stop to visit your pictures more than I have been.
