About a mile from my house there is a large beaver pond caused by beavers damming the Great Branch Creek. From the looks of things, the beavers left this pond a long time before we moved to Virginia, three years ago. Despite the absence of beavers, their work lives on and the pond is thriving.
Today, the Missus and I were were running errands when we drove past the beaver pond. I spotted a great scene of reflections in the still waters of the pond, turned around, found a place to park, and walked along the road to get a shot of the scene.
There were six Canada geese towards the far end of the pond where I couldn't get a good shot of them. This one saw my plight and did me a favor. It took off for the other end of the pond, flying pretty much at my eye level, and slower than the wood ducks (in my Other Other album for today), letting me get this tack-sharp shot.
