I went to Stumpy Lake this afternoon, looking for birds. I was hoping to see things like herons, egrets or cormorants, but the lake was frozen. So what I did see was this pair of cardinals dining on the seeds from the cypress trees that would normally drop straight into the water. It must have been quite the exotic meal for Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal.
