We took Rosie for a lovely walk here today. We’ve been a few times as it’s not far from us, and each time we go there are new memorials to see. If you are in England and haven’t visited yet, I thoroughly recommend it. Free entry too, and a large cafe and shop.
I really want to visit this place. My grandfather was in Changi jail for all of WW2 and the lynch gates from the jail are there now. A wonderful set of photos Lesley
No I haven't been….we went to the American one a long time ago outside Cambridge.
I love the children with their cases being evacuated….must have been so scary.
@happypat If you ever find yourself in the midlands, it’s well worth it. My father was evacuated to somewhere in Wales and the story is that he was treated so badly that my gran made the trip to fetch him back. Scary for children and their parents. I can’t imagine it now.
@tinley23 Oh dear your poor dad…that must have scarred him for life or it could have done if your gran hadn't fetched him back….cruel people, how could they do that!
