Book (gratitude)

We didn’t read much as children as we lived very near a public park and were always over there with friends. However, when I got to secondary school the first set book we were given was Moonfleet. I was bowled-over by it, and my love of reading began there and then.
Remember it well … from school.

Not one that I know. I always used to read when I went to bed, even as a kid.

I know you are a great reader now though Lesley. I haven’t read this one. It’s on about William Shakespeare tonight & I was just saying that my school never taught us much about him…..looking back either I was a rubbish pupil or the school was rubbish! A bit if both I think!

@happypat Pat I echo this.

@happypat I know what you mean, Pat. I wasn’t a great pupil either, but I’m not sure I can blame the school in my case. I do think I’m lucky that I enjoyed that first book though - things may have been very different had I hated it. I will check out that Shakespeare programme.

Not one I am familiar with either. For me it was the Famous Five adventure stories written by Enid Blyton.
