This is my friend Cansu. I don't take pictures of people much so I was a little shy when she asked if I could take a picture of her. It was in the evening and already dark outside, so we put on every light available. Only afterwards did I recognize that she has a shadow on her neck.
Comments and suggestions are much appreciated!

Update 05/2019: Year 3 begins! I'm living in Bremerhaven near the North Sea since October...
i dont mind the shadow, it helps frame her face, i think its the light on her neck that is more distracting, you could try some black and white , so you could try burning the highlights in that area. do you have the nik collection? its free https://www.google.com/nikcollection/ and silverefex might have a setting which equals it out a bit, more importantly though now you know what to look for next time , i know the feeling though, when i photograph people i get so nervy i cant think!
@kali66 thank you very much, I will download it and try! Yes, it's quite amazing how much one can recognize afterwards and then learn from it. Nearly with every picture I notice how I change :)
Well done for trying - I find photographing people really difficult and don't seem to learn from mistakes very quickly. Agree with kali about the shadow - it isn't in an important place and matters very little. Cansu looks very friendly, calm and positive here. You have captured her well even if all the technical details aren't right .
@helenhall yes, she is very friendly! She was my roommate in 2012 and still lives in Poland. You know, maybe I only *thought* that I got better. Yesterday night I looked at some pictures I did back in my Erasmus time and there were a lot of people on them. I captured them better then today - maybe because I did it when they had already been partying for some time and weren't afraid of the camera.
@haskar thank you! Yes, I will. Now I'm really interested in this topic.
