St. Nikolai has been renovated, St. Marien has been built reconstructed (at least parts of it), and St. Georgen got a lift since I last visited Wismar in 2010. Nevertheless, anti-church policies (and thus no renovation for decades) of the GDR is still visible in the big Backstein churches of Wismar.
