Willow by toinette

Willow

I brought my willow from Munich to Bremen and it seems to be ok with the new place. Last week, it began to blossom and that's why I chose it for my Get Pushed-Challenge:
Saxa @overalvandaan challenged my to take "an image with an as wide as possible aperture, a shallow depth of field (so an out of focus background and subject has all the detail)."

Hey Saxa @overalvandaan, it seems, that there's nothing but the colour left from the background behind my willow when I put the aperture as wide as possible :)

the focus on the willow is lovely, and the colour behind - although maybe the background could do with a little more interest somehow.

Well done! Love the focus on the soft bud. What is the back ground, a wall?

Hi Marie, it looks as if you're using a similar camera to me, and the cameras I have learned on, so I am going to suggest that for your Get Pushed challenge you find out how to use the macro settings on your camera - the setting usually looks like a small flower. On mine to make it effective, I have to set the aperture to the lowest number - F3.3 on my current camera. To get the focus to work I also have to change the focus function (to spot focussing).

@overalvandaan thanks! yes, there are red bricks. And @helenhall is right, of course, the background could be more interesting :))
