high school

I had to go to a training today and found myself alone in the high school building at the end. I didn't dare to venture too much out of the way with fear to run into a custodian, but I managed to sneak into a hallway with the bright light streaming through the door.

Glad I had my camera with me, and proud that I got this shot in focus without a tripod.

I am a bit worried that the image will be too dark on 365, but I don't want to apply too much fill light. Oh well, decisions, decisions....

I'm always drawn to these dark photos. Good job. I too have noticed that pictures are darker on 365, has it been mentioned before?

I like it! Just enough light on the walls too! Great comp!

@cdhldude Thank you! I think people are aware that the pictures are darker, and often I make a slight adjustment. They are even darker when I view them on my ipad, but haven't checked if I can adjust the settings there.
@stimuloog Thank you!

I don't think it is too dark. Great shot. I like the symmetry - fav

Good one! I also like the symmetry. Everything on the photo leads eyes on windows at the end. To the end of high school :)

absolutely drawing. classic shot of a classic subject done with, as it were, class. i think low light foregrounds is another thing you could/did successfully experiment with, this has a lot of gravity to it.

as for pictures showing up darker or otherwise misrepresented, its most usually about ones program (like net browser or picture viewing application) or its operative plug-ins. there are multiple color profiles and publishing formats and file types, and there is basically no unified cross-platform and cross-program environment support for even the most used configurations. http://www.color.org/version4html.xalter is a great place to test what your various employed devices and applications are capable of reading.

I think it's a wonderful photo Heidi. I'm seeing this one second (the feed being newest to oldest …) and I'm a bit blown away! I thought the other one was good! It's fantastic viewed large and I particularly like the really strong lines at the top and the watery texture of the floor. Well I love pretty much everything about it ...

@zana_365 Oh yes, evil high school. It's funny how they all look pretty much the same.

@aliha Thank you for your nice comments!

I find this a very satisfying image, it has just enough darkness the horizontal lines on the floor are really nice.

@kali66 Thank you. I too like the lines. I think they are caused by uneven tiles on a gleaming floor.

it has a dark mood, my 1st impression was a jail

@axika pretty much the same thing, some would argue!

Brilliant, Fav!!

It's not too dark at all, it's perfect as it is! This has helped exaggerate the length of it with those white lines running the length of the hallway on the walls. Well done! You have a new follower!
