The Grand Palace in Bangkok is actually a collection of buildings in a walled complex. including Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha).
One of the most famous tourist attractions in Thailand is also the King of Thailand's home, houses the Royal court and is the administrative seat of the Thai government.
The palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam (and later Thailand) since 1782.
