What's for Breakfast?

Two Wedge-tailed Eagles dropped into the bloodwood tree across the road to survey their breakfast menu. It caused much alarm among the galahs, crows, magpies and whatever other birds were feeding on the farm below them.

I don't know what they selected but they swooped down into the farm and disappeared from view for quite some time before I saw them rise up again and perch on a fence post before they floated away and drifted back up into the sky.

When danger is about the high pitched alarm call of the peewee sends all the ducks and chooks scattering for shelter. I see I've caught a peewee (Magpie-Lark) in this shot . He's sitting on an outer limb screeching his warning to all.

@roth @judithg Thank you Sue and Judith, I enjoy my bird watching. This project and moments like this above are making me wish I had a better camera than my simple point and shoot.

This shot is much better with the magnifier. Maybe you should put a recommendation to use it on your caption? It's a great capture, especially with the Peewee. They are amazing little birds. I watched two of them driving away a Whistling Kite yesterday time after time, till it finally gave up and moved elsewhere.
