The five grandsons are back for the holidays. Today's job was to remove an English elm that had grown to big for its boots. It was filling the garden with roots (and leaves!) and beginning to spread out over the house. So down it came. The boys got to "play" with bikes, trucks and chainsaws and Grandad got to drop back into supervisor role again. Must admit the garden looks rather bare now but it had to go!
Nice action shot. I know what you mean about looking bare once the tree is gone. I have hundreds of trees but a recents storm took down a lot of them near the house and the spots look bare without them.
Perfect time for bonding with the grandkids! My kids all love to go and visit with my parents. They get put to all kinds of chores and work hard, but think it's the greatest fun!
