It's not only hot,hot,hot but dry,dry,dry as well. We have recorded no rain this month. All the birds in the area are taking advantage of my bird bath in the front garden. I counted fifteen different species making use of it yesterday...drinking, washing, playing ... perching on the grapevine trellis before dropping into the water below. Thinking I'd be helpful, I went out and place a stone in the water for them to settle on. All were very cautious approaching this new feature in their playground. Much chatter and many inspections were needed before the fun and games could resume. This little brown honeyeater is still a little tentative.
Margaret, this is beautiful. I love the green background and leaf also. The bird is excellent. How thrilling to see that many types, but I do hope for rain for you.
