...very weathered in fact as it is a piece of petrified wood...the remains of a tree that grew here in Australia possibly a million or so years ago. Too busy with cattle work yesterday (and then too exhausted) to worry about photos.
Wow! This is interesting, being a rock hound, I am always interested in petrified wood, ,here in Arizona, we have a National Park called. The Pretrified Forest, which at one time millions of years ago, was a lush forest, but today is just huge pieces of petrified logs and or pieces of wood lying on the ground due to wind and erosion...will post some photos tomorrow....nice find and interesting caption!.......
