Thanks to all for dropping by and enjoying Meika's predicament. The chickens were fine. They flew in every direction but the poor mother was terrified. I'd never heard her blood curdling alarm call before. Once Meika was contained, she gathered all the chicks together and led them to the top of the persimmon tree until she gained her composure. She is such an excellent Mother.
Marvellous, I have been trying for ages to get a photo of the kookaburras' that laugh at my place, but haven't managed it yet. This is wonderful, specially the contrast between sleek bird, soft leaves and rough bark.
