Two peaceful doves snoozing in the winter sunshine. I have a funny story to go with this picture.
Kelvin and I were also soaking up the sunshine when I spotted this little family of five doves snoozing on the bare branches of the English Elm. I took my photos (the whole series is rather comical in itself as they open and shut eyes from picture to picture) and went inside to process. Apparently four woke up a little later and flew away. The fifth remained asleep. Kel said when he eventually woke he looked rather startled. Everyone had gone. He started to cheek and shuffle up and down the branch in a mini panic. Then one of his calls was answered and he was off in the direction from which it came. Apparently it was quite a comical sight.
