Christmas Eve by ubobohobo

Christmas Eve

Christmas in our part of the world wouldn't be Christmas without the raucous cries of the channel-billed cuckoo or storm bird. It is the largest cuckoo in Australia and gives magpies and crows a hard time at this time of year. No chance of us sleeping in. They have a piercing cry and start annoying the host birds about four o'clock every morning. They migrate here from New Guinea in October and stay around until Feb-March.
This must be why there are cuckoo clocks--nature's alarm clocks!
