withered winter berry by vankrey

withered winter berry

A sunless, dreary January day, being without snow, only accentuates the gloomy feeling. Searching for any color, I found the purple callicarpa berries still on the branches, adding an unexpected burst of color among the dead oak leaves and dried hydrangea blossoms. The moss on the stones adds a nice purple/green juxtaposition.
Gorgeous splash of colour.

@trixiehiscock Thanks Trixie, purple out in nature is such a welcome color in winter. By the way, I love your work!
