unfurling

I loved the color contrasts of the deep burgundy center with the rich purple petals. The curled petals allowed for a pretty "lightening" of the edges as it opens. It's like a big stre~~tch at the start of a morning.
What incredible colours, fabulous shot. It really does look like it is stretching.

Michael... We need to talk, at this point with your collection of work you have amassed on 365Project, you need to remove the word Armature from your profile and possibly replace it with Natural Professional. Your work is breathtaking and inspiring. I look forward every day to what your going to put up next... Oh by the amazing photo of the day... the way you have framed the flower with the black edges makes the purple pedals float in air, having the DoF on red center just adds to the illusion of a super naturalness. Focus is perfect. I would print this and put it on display it is so beautiful. Bravo!

@masosy thanks Kate. Funny thing is, it's a rather immature clematis, and this is the only bud. Glad to have caught it in this state.

@digitalrn thanks for noticing the lighting. At the time it seemed like it was working in my favor. It was a quick shot while the kids and wife were away.

@taffy Taffy, I'm pleased you liked it. The richness of the colors seemed special to me, to to have caught it before fully opening seemed right.
