Tokugawan by vankrey

Tokugawan

Today was spent at a hot spring villlage near Nikko called Kinugawa. It has some pretty kitschy tourist destinations, one of which is called Edo Wonderland. Its objective is to give a flavor of the Tokugawa Era (Edo Era - roughly 1600 to 1860) to modern day Japanese and foreign visitors. Several students of ours could have spent 2 weeks there. Especially the ninja-themed areas. Employees were in dress from that era, the architecture and arifacts also portrayed the time period. Here is a hooded, kimono-clad woman that caught my eye. I decided to heavily process this to give it a vintage effect from an earliier time.
I love this image!! THe processing is fantastic and the way it conveys some classic Japanese elements is wonderful GREAT shot.
