Today was about nature. We spent the day hiking through Oku Nikko, or Outer Nikko, from a starting point of Ryuzu Falls through Senjogahara Marsh on through to Yumoto Falls and the small village in the outer reaches of the mountains in Nikko National Park. This pathway represents the bulk of our 11.5 mile hike though some of the most stunning mountain views, sounds of Japanese Cuckoos, Nightingales, and a myriad of unknown insects. I loved how this photo represents a pathway that is "very OkuNikko."
