This is one one of my favorite photos from our trip and was discovered on the grounds of the Aoyagi home in Kakunodate (for more, please visit "flow" from my "or this one" album). The juxtaposition of lightness and darkness, hard and soft, rounded and square make this a particular favorite of mine from the trip. I apologize for the wash of uploads, but I am finally home and need to catch up. Choosing 3 photos from each day of our (with @jyokota) spectacular travel with my students has been a particular challenge for me.
