Last night I put the mantis out on the front porch after I finished taking enough portraits of him. I knew he would be gone this morning, but for some crazy reason, I went out early to look for him. Of course he was gone. At least I that is what I thought...why would he stick around? Later this afternoon, I opened the front door and there he was!!! sitting on the front porch railing waiting for more photos to be taken...and you can bet I took a bunch more. My shooting friend Bonnie just happened to be here and we had a little mantis celebration shoot. Then he flew away! So weird that he waited until I saw him again to fly away. Do you think he hung around to thank me for freeing him last night?
