Emily's Run by vickisfotos

Emily's Run

My granddaughter ran with her school in the All City Cross Country Meet yesterday. She ran the 3K (1.9 mile) for a new personal record of 14:13. The rain held off until the last race...which was HER race...poor little thing was freezing and drenched, but proud of herself!
Oh I can see the sideways rain!! wow what determination to run in these conditions!! nice shot

What a great job running in that kind of weather. She must have been so cold. Fantastic time.

She has a reason to be proud.

Congrats! You are one proud grandmom! Or nana? !? She has much to be proud of.
October 24th, 2012
@yonnie she was! but a full hot bath helped get her back to normal. thanks!
October 24th, 2012
@jimmyveee yes, they are good for them. it gives them friends with the same interest and helps keep them out of trouble. My kids all had school sports and now so glad to see the grandkids involved. I like that they like running...it is such a healthy sport.
October 24th, 2012
@rhoing for sure...it was NOT flat, so many hills...and the rain and mud added to it...such is life in Oregon.
October 24th, 2012
@wannabe yes, they both did great this season...I like that with running, your main goal is to improve yourself...beat your own time...and maybe at the same time you might win the race! My granddaughter is really good, but her little brother is getting way better times that her. She is into it more now for the social aspect...he is in it for the challenge. It shows. But she really does not like it that he can beat her so easily now. : )
October 24th, 2012
@calm HAHA...Oregonians are ALWAYS prepared for rain!!!
October 24th, 2012
@xtech they call me Grandma : ) and I have so much to be proud of too!!!
October 24th, 2012
@julie she was so frozen when it was over...put her little hands in my coat pockets to warm up then she got into a hot bath when she got home.
